Mariana Campos Zepeda

School: Metro Tech High School

Mariana Campos Zepeda is a first generation Mexican American from Phoenix, Arizona. Within her school community, she is involved in Student Government. Mariana had spearheaded impactful initiatives, such as organizing the Women’s Annual Leadership Panel to empower her peers. She serves in her high school’s link crew. Carrying the Historian position where she captured moments of freshmen she mentors This wasn’t her sole purpose, she was also a friend to those new underclassmen. Outside school, she volunteers at a nonprofit recognized as Promise Arizona. She teaches English to Spanish speakers, on the journey of becoming American citizens. Mariana looks up to and volunteers with councilwoman Betty Guardado. She assists in family events, providing free services and enhancing Phoenix by identifying neighborhood improvements. She also plans to double major in Political Science and Psychology. Mariana is thankful that CHCI NextGen offered her the privilege to learn and develop.
