Olga Martinez was born and raised in Los Angeles, California from a family of Salvadorian and Mexican immigrants. At school, they focus on helping their community, such as by fundraising for immigrant rights and queer rights by engaging with their school to earn funds through their club that they manage. Alongside, they have been part of organized informational presentations with a sole goal— to spread awareness and provide resources against encounters of immigration officers. For them, applying to CHCI NextGen was an amazing opportunity to fully expand their political knowledge, along with such roles in leadership and how they can connect it better with their community.
