Mia Medrano is a passionate, Latina student from Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a growing interest in political science and the process of advocating for underrepresented narratives. She is actively involved in her community and strives to make a lasting impact in any way she can. To date, Mia has given a TEDx Talk about invasive species and created her very own YouTube Channel dedicated to raising awareness about the negative effects of water pollution. CHCI NextGen allowed Mia to understand and be exposed to government operations and the work of Congress officials, while also connecting her to like-minded Latino individuals. With aspirations to pursue a career in law in the future, Mia continues to advocate for her community and showcase her strong leadership skills.
