Emmanuel Solis is a first-generation Chicano from Compton, California, and a rising junior at Maywood Center for Enriched Studies. Guided by the values of family, advocacy, justice, faith, and equity, he currently serves as Class of 2027 President and contributes to education policy as a member of LAUSD’s School Culture, Climate, and Safety Task Force. In this role, Emmanuel helps develop district-wide initiatives that prioritize student well-being and social-emotional learning. His passion for education reform is rooted in his lived experience growing up in a historically underserved community, where he witnessed firsthand the barriers faced by students like him. Emmanuel is committed to amplifying youth voices and advancing equitable access through leadership and policy change. He applied to CHCI NextGen to grow alongside like-minded peers, strengthen his leadership toolkit, and further his mission of creating lasting, systemic change in education and beyond.
