U.S. Representative Darren Soto

Andrea V. Valdés Valderrama is the Senior Legislative Assistant for Congressman Darren Soto, where she advises the Congressman on issues including water rights, data privacy, economic policy, energy, and the environment. She staffs the Congressman for his assignment on the exclusive Energy & Commerce Committee, with a focus on consumer protection and product safety. 

Since her time as a Córdova & Fernós Intern on the Hill, Andrea witnessed how the legislative process impacts the lives of everyday Americans, including those living in Puerto Rico. Now, as a staffer for Congressman Soto, she continues to advocate for equity and justice for Puerto Rico through a range of issues including status, nutrition, healthcare, and disaster relief. She is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez and enjoys cooking and reading in her spare time.
