2025 Summer Congressional Interns
Ángel L. González

Congressional Intern, Presented by HEP/CAMP
Hometown: Sunnyside, Washington
School: University of Washington
Major: Construction Management; Business Accounting
Placement: League of United Latin American Citizens
With roots connecting back to Jalisco, Mexico, Ángel L. González’s passion for supporting Latine, immigrant, and other underserved communities has been shaped by his experience being raised by a single mother in a rural agricultural community in Eastern Washington.
As a dual-enrollment student, Ángel was part of several projects where he was able to help over 150 farm-working families in his community through a club he founded at his local community college. As a senior in high school, Ángel worked to combat misinformation issues and promote civic engagement by creating and moderating a forum for his town’s school board candidates. Now at the University of Washington, Ángel plans to double major in Business and Construction Management to work on projects that create infrastructure within impoverished communities while continuing to do meaningful work as an undergraduate.
Ángel hopes to enhance the many essential skills he has acquired, such as communication and public speaking, while in Washington, DC for his internship with CHCI. Additionally, he would like to learn how to assess the needs of struggling Hispanic communities and create solutions that address them, while also learning about the responsibilities of government offices.
