Brandy Valdovinos grew up in the small town of Bridgeport, Washington, where she was raised by her parents and grandparents who immigrated from Mexico to the United States. Inspired by the countless stories of hardship and resilience her family endured and overcame, Brandy embraced every opportunity that came her way. Witnessing her mother gain U.S. citizenship sparked her passion for immigration rights.
Brandy is a student at Gonzaga University majoring in Criminology after completing her associate’s degree in high school through the Running Start program. After graduating, Brandy plans to work in the legal field as an assistant and obtain online certification to become an immigration paralegal. She hopes to work her way up to becoming an immigration lawyer or a judge.
While in Washington, DC, Brandy hopes to broaden her understanding of the legislative process. The skills and knowledge she will gain as a CHCI Intern will help her take on leadership roles and tackle any challenges that come her way.
