Caroline was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the oldest daughter and first member of her family to leave home to attend college, Caroline has always sought to carve her path educationally and professionally and pave the way for those following her. In high school, she discovered a passion for education working in an elementary school classroom for the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools and paid forward her educational privilege by serving as a mentor for young Latina women involved with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
Caroline is a Junior at The George Washington University studying Political Science with a double minor in Spanish and American Studies. Upon graduation, she plans to continue her education by getting a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy at George Washington University. Caroline’s ultimate career goal after graduation would be in a field that allows her to combine her passion for public service and politics with her creative abilities to give back to the Latinx community.
As a CHCI Intern, Caroline hopes to further explore her passions for public service and politics by participating firsthand in the political process on Capitol Hill. She hopes to be able to use this experience as a first stepping stone to a long career in advocating for Latina women in all positions of power.
