Diego Colon was born and raised in an urban immigrant community in Chicago. His mother immigrated to the United States at a young age from Mexico while his father is a third-generation national from Puerto Rico. Diego adopted his work ethic and tenacity from his parents’ hard work and commitment. He is passionate about the Arts, social justice, and history. He seeks to find the good in all people, regardless of their past, to build a future of inclusion. Diego applied to NextGen to have the opportunity to connect and grow with individuals who share a similar background with him and have the mission of making a change.
