Diego Román is a first-generation Mexican American student from Chicago, Illinois where he currently attends Walter Payton College Preparatory. He actively participates in leadership roles within his community, such as Spanish Honors Society and Latin American Coalition, in order to further his impact on his culture as well as the other Hispanic cultures around the world. He hopes to continue his education in the coming years with the intention of majoring in psychology, giving back to his community in both a mentally and emotionally appropriate manner. His experience with CHCI NextGen has allowed him to improve his leadership and communication skills while also creating close bonds and connections with other aspiring Latino students across the nation.
