Gonzalo Rocha

Gonzalo Rocha-Vazquez is a first-generation public servant with experience in both the California State Senate and Assembly. He currently serves as a Field Representative in the California State Assembly, where he takes great pride in working directly with constituents and communities across the district. Prior to this, he served in the California State Senate, where he focused on public safety, civil rights, immigration, and Latinx community engagement. Born and raised across California’s Central Coast and Central Valley, Gonzalo is the proud son of working-class Mexican immigrant parents. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and Latin American Studies from UC San Diego, where he was a McNair Scholar. As Vice President of Regional Engagement – San Diego for the CHCI Alumni Association’s Southern California Chapter, Gonzalo is committed to strengthening alumni connections, advancing Latinx leadership, and empowering the next generation through mentorship and grassroots engagement.
