Isabel J. Sanchez serves as Executive Director of the Future Forum Caucus, comprised of 53 young House Democratic Members. In this role, Sanchez developed a strategic plan informed by the organization’s three core principles, manages its operations, and implements strategies to bridge the divide between young Americans and Congress to inspire the next generation of leaders in public service. 

Sanchez formerly served as Policy Director for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) where she advised on policy issues impacting Latino communities, including immigration, appropriations, education, and agriculture. During her tenure, she informed CHC’s Executive Action asks of President Biden, led CHC’s first ever policy roundtables on voting rights and farmworkers, and successfully shepherded CHC Member bills through the House floor of which 28 were signed into law. Further, she co-led the restructuring of the CHC’s Leadership structure and the implementation of a strategic plan to meet Members’ legislative goals.

A proud alum of Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, she led the Congresswoman’s Homeland Appropriations Subcommittee assignment and led the introduction and passage of H.R. 6, the American Dream and Promise Act. Prior to coming to the Hill, Isabel helped spearhead an immigrant rights organization’s office in D.C. while leading their federal advocacy portfolio. Sanchez first began her congressional career by interning for Congresswoman Judy Chu’s (CA-28th) district office. 

An immigrant from Mexico, and proud daughter of immigrants, she is the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside in Political Science and Law and Society.
