JD Mazuera Arias

Juan Diego “JD” Mazuera Arias is a dynamic leader at the intersection of government relations, social justice, Latine empowerment, and immigrant rights. With extensive experience in lobbying, policy development, and grassroots organizing, JD has driven impactful change across municipal, congressional, and presidential campaigns, including work with the Democratic National Committee. Currently a Lead in the Global Government Affairs & Policy team at Kyndryl, JD specializes in tech and cyber regulation. His career highlights include a fellowship with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute where had placements at the Aspen Institute’s Latinos & Society Program and co-leading the immigration policy portfolio for the office of U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He spent three years advocating in Congress, the White House, and other government agencies for racial equity in education, healthcare, and the economy as the Senior Government Affairs Assistant at The Century Foundation. A former DACA recipient and first-generation college graduate, JD’s unique perspective as a queer Colombian immigrant informs his advocacy, which has been featured in publications like the Harvard Kennedy School’s Journal of Hispanic Policy and The Century Foundation. JD earned his Bachelor’s in Arts in Political Science from Queens University of Charlotte and his Master in Public Administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where he was a Bloomberg Public Service Fellow.
