U.S. Senator Laphonza Butler

Mirella Manilla is currently the Digital Director for Senator Laphonza Butler (D-CA), where she handles all things digital. She was previously at the Joint Economic Committee (JEC) under Senator Martin Heinrich. Before joining the Senate, Mirella worked for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) and previously for a Hispanic media public relations firm in Los Angeles. She’s also worked on several local and state campaigns, including Jaime Harrison for U.S. Senate and the 2020 Warnock-Ossoff GA runoff. Mirella was born in California and raised in the Carolinas. She is the daughter of two immigrant parents from Mexico and the eldest daughter of three. Mirella enjoys playing tennis, volunteering, meeting new people, and traveling.
