VIVIANN ANGUIANO
Viviann Anguiano is the Deputy Education Policy Director for the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions majority chaired by Senator Bernard Sanders (D-VT). She assists in providing strategic policy direction across education issues and the HELP jurisdiction and leads the higher education portfolio to improve affordability, accountability, and equity in higher education for all people. Anguiano was formerly an associate director at the Center for American Progress on higher education policy. She has spent more than a decade dedicated to building a more equitable and just society in education policy, coalition-building, and community engagement. A proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, first-generation college graduate, and Chicagoan, Anguiano earned a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
