Washington, D.C., March 5, 2025 — CHCI joins the nation in mourning the passing of esteemed former Congressman Lincoln Díaz-Balart (FL), commemorating the contributions of his advocacy and leadership on behalf of the Latino community during his 18-year career in the U.S. House of Representatives and 24 years of work as a public servant.  

“The broader work of Rep. Díaz-Balart, a former CHCI board member, transcended political affiliation and appealed to a greater national conscience. The Congressman’s legacy will be remembered by those in his home community of South Florida, as well as by advocates of marginalized people and immigrants, by his colleagues in the House of Representatives, and by the CHCI community,” said Marco A.
