Your support made a difference in 2024.

Let’s build a brighter 2025 together.

Dear friend and partner,

As we wrap up a meaningful and memorable year, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your consistent presence, support, and commitment to our mission of developing the next generation of Latino leaders ®

Whether you contributed by attending or sponsoring a CHCI event, or served as a mentor, speaker, trainer, engaged alum, or ambassador on social media – every action you took led us to reach more people with resources and support. Thank you for partnering with us as we pursue a more equitable and prosperous society.

Our growing network of supporters understands the importance of providing young Latinos with exemplary leadership programming, career-changing internships and fellowships, and transformative exposure to extraordinary fellow leaders.

Below are some of our biggest 2024 milestones and proudest moments. Together, we opened doors of opportunity, equipped existing and emerging leaders, strengthened friendships and connections, and amplified the contributions of our community on a national stage.

As we enter 2025, your partnership remains critical to the strides we make as an organization. Thank you for sensing the urgency of our work.

May you and your loved ones enjoy a safe and peaceful holiday season and ring in a very happy new year!

Sincerely,

Marco and the CHCI team

A Look Back At 2024

Transformative Programming
We delivered five powerful leadership development programs: the NextGen Latino Leadership Program, the Public Policy Fellowship, the Postgraduate Fellowship, the Congressional Internship Program, and the Latino Hill Staff Academy. More than 200 participants completed our rigorous curricula and joined the prestigious CHCI Alumni Network.

An Invested National Network
We proudly added 210 new members to the CHCI Alumni Network, which grew to more than 5,200 strong!

Impactful National Convenings
We held a series of interactive, solution-oriented, policy-focused events, proudly breaking attendance records at our 2024 Leadership Conference and 47th Annual Awards Gala, Spring Issue Summit, and 5K Run/Walk. We hosted a total of 76 events and convened nearly 8,500 attendees, including 59 Members of Congress.

Event Highlights
Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM)

With over 3,000 attendees, our CHCI HHM events convened one of the most powerful national Latino networks in the country for thoughtful, human-centered, solution-oriented exchange.

In 2024, we:

  • Featured more than 170 speakers who shared in-depth knowledge and inspiring reflections
  • Welcomed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and hosted 4 cabinet members, 7 senior administration officials, and 54 Members of Congress
  • Offered 36 unique CHCI HHM Experiences – 31 compelling issue-focused sessions and 5 receptions

The CHCI 47th Annual Awards Gala – marked by remarks from President Joe Biden and emceed by political strategist and CNN commentator Maria Cardona – was attended by more than 2,500 influential leaders.

The program featured a dynamic lineup of speakers, including CHCI Board Chair Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV), Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Pete Aguilar (CA-33), and CHC Chair Rep. Nanette Barragán (CA-44).

Beloved talk show hosts, “El Gordo y la Flaca,” received the Chair’s Award. Rep. Tony Cárdenas (CA-29) and Rep. Grace Flores Napolitano (CA-31) were each recognized with Legacy Awards for their careers in public service and contributions to the Latino community, and the legendary Mexican musical group Los Tigres del Norte and award-winning actress and activist Rosario Dawson were both honored with Medallion of Excellence Awards.

Miryam Granthon-Gerdine was named the 2024 Distinguished Alumnus, alongside Arizona State Senator Flavio Bravo, who was honored as the 2024 Young Alumnus. The evening included a vibrant musical performance by the iconic Dominican artist Fefita La Grande.

Additional Event Highlights

The 2024 CHCI Symposium on Energy, Infrastructure, and Sustainability drew nearly 200 cross-sector leaders who participated in discussions on the transformative impact of federal investments through legislation such as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), strategies for enhancing grid resilience and fostering a clean energy transition, the economic and social implications of infrastructure development on communities nationwide, and more.

Earlier in the year, our 2024 Issue Summit convened nearly 300 thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to engage in discussions about inequities affecting Latina women and youth, the challenges caused by climate change, strategies for strengthening leadership across professional sectors, DEIB engagement best practices and more.

This past spring, CHCI brought together nearly 400 participants for the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk Day at Nationals Park in Washington, DC! Runners, walkers, spectators, and CHCI program participants, alumni, and corporate partners came together to network and acknowledge the importance of health and wellness for the Latino community.

Also in the spring, CHCI Postgraduate Fellows moderated thoughtful panels and presented analytical policy papers resulting from their research on pressing issues for the Latino community and the nation at CHCI Capitol Hill Policy Briefings. The white papers are available at chci.org.
