CHCI hosts a platform of leadership development programs, which equip young Latino leaders with the tools they need to be successful in the public and private sectors. Through our educational and leadership development programs, CHCI is committed to our mission of Developing the Next Generation of Latino Leaders®.[/vc_column_text][vc_toggle title=”When are applications due?”]The application for the Latino Hill Staff Academy 2023 is due by 11:59 pm Eastern Time on January 24, 2023.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”When will I know if I have been accepted into the academy?”]Notifications will be sent out by early February[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How do I know if I’m eligible”]The CHCI Latino Hill Staff Academy recommends that you be a full-time staff employed by the United States Congress, in any role (e.g. Staff Assistant to Chief of Staff); consideration will be made for those who are or have experienced a transition of the Hill and have a strong interest in returning to the Hill. [/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can more than one person from the same office apply to the academy?”]Yes. More than one applicant from the same office is welcome to apply to the Academy.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I have already completed a CHCI program and am an alumni, am I eligible to participate in the academy?”]Yes. CHCI alumni are welcome to apply to the program.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”I am currently a hill staffer but may be transitioning from my role, can I still apply?”]Yes. Please apply and let CHCI know of any changes in your employment status. Consideration will be made for those in transition who aspire to or have a strong interest in returning to employment on the Hill.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What do I need to complete my application?”]A complete application consists of:

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What is the essay word limit?”]Please keep your response to a maximum of 500 words.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is there an interview involved?”]There is no interview involved. We will, however, schedule a call with all applicants accepted into the program to learn more about what you expect to learn and gain from the academy.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can only latinos apply to CHCI programs?”]Applicants interested in making an investment in the Latino community and/or working on policies that affect the Latino population are welcome to apply to any and all CHCI programs.

However, please note that preference will be given to applicants that identify as Latino/a/x.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does my supervisor need to approve my participation?”]Please see your individual office policy on participating in professional development opportunities with organizations off the Hill.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What if I can not make all the sessions?”]CHCI understands the demands of working on Capitol Hill. This program was designed to meet the needs of staffers by combining both in-person and virtual, asynchronous learning sessions.
