JOHANA MATA

Johana Mata is a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) with a focus on education and child welfare policy. She was born in Mexico and grew up in Houston, Texas, where she gained an appreciation for Beyoncé and Vietnamese-Cajun fusion food. Johana graduated from Wellesley College in 2017 with a degree in international relations and French. After graduating, she taught public school for a year and thereafter decided to bring her passion for equity in education to Capitol Hill.
