Yoselin Herrera
Hometown: Lawrenceville, Georgia
School: Central Gwinnett High School
Yoselin Herrera is a first-generation Mexican from Lawrenceville, Georgia. At her high school, she is a part of the girls varsity soccer team, as well as clubs like HOPE, Key Club, TSA, and SkillsUSA. She is deeply concerned about issues affecting the Latine community in her city and county, such as gun violence, racial discrimination, immigration, and education inequity. In the future, she envisions giving back to the Latino community by practicing immigration law. Privileged with the amazing opportunity to participate in the NextGen program, it has empowered her to be the best version of herself and give back to her community. It was an incredible experience. It has improved her leadership, public speaking, and networking skills. She also met with other Latine individuals who shared their experiences with her. While we are all different, we all strive to empower our communities.
