Valeria is a first generation student in Los Angeles California. She is extremely passionate in raising awareness for mental health and advocating for her communities needs. She hopes to graduate college and obtain a Juris Doctor degree to become a lawyer someday. The NextGen program has helped her grow as a leader and become familiar with other issues that are not often seen. Not only was she able to strengthen her leadership skills but she was able to build stronger connections with a group of students that she now considers family.
