Manager, Congressional Internship Program
Cristian Pineda is the Manager of the Congressional Internship Program at CHCI, where he supervises and mentors program participants, while guiding them to become part of the ever-growing community of Latino leaders.
Cristian has dedicated close to fifteen years supporting students of diverse backgrounds in grades K-12 and in the college setting. A native to the DC metropolitan region, Cristian has been involved with several local organizations and nonprofits empowering young adults to achieve postsecondary success by intersecting leadership development, college and career readiness, and multicultural and social justice advocacy.
Other previous roles of Cristian’s include serving as a Student Success Coordinator for the Achieving Collegiate Excellence & Success (ACES) Program at Montgomery College, Admissions Coordinator of K12 Partnerships at George Mason University, and Site Coordinator for Communities In Schools of NOVA. He has also worked in Washington, DC as an administrative and digital media assistant.
Cristian is a proud Salvadoran-American and first-generation college graduate, receiving his B.A. in Communication, and his M.Ed. in Counseling and Development, both from George Mason University. In his free time, he enjoys working out, recreational activities, and exploring new movies/TV shows/music.
