Annamaria La Sota

Annamaria La Sota is a Mexican-American senior living in Arizona. She is currently the secretary of her school’s chapter of National Honors Society, Vice President of a local youth group aimed at empowering young women called EmpowherX, and founder of the club PATH, which is dedicated to hiking Arizona’s trails and parks while cleaning up trash. Annamaria is passionate about environmental sustainability and helping the Latino community. She hopes that through public policy she will be able to enact change in these two areas of the world. Annamaria plans on majoring in political science, and eventually wants to go to Law school. Thanks to the NextGen program, Annamaria was able to connect with other Latino leaders, and connect and learn from them. In addition, she was able to meet with her state Senators and representatives, and bring up the political issues that she is passionate about. She is eternally grateful for the NextGen program, and would strongly recommend it to all high school Latino leaders, as it left her feeling empowered to enact change in her own community and beyond.
