Arlette Correa is a first-generation Mexican-American from Chicago, Illinois attending boarding school in Ohio. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of her school’s newspaper (The Reserve Record), a dorm prefect, a DEI student committee officer, plays lacrosse and is her school’s Latinx affinity club leader. She is passionate about people and stories; she values empathy and respect. Knowing the importance of diversity and equity, Arlette hopes to become a lawyer. Attending the NextGen program, supplied Arlette with the valuable experience to connect with students who shared her passion for making a change and understood/connected to her background. Through the program, she met inspiring Latinos in politics, learned the importance of advocacy, and gained a stronger sense of how she can help the Latinx community.
