Brandon Macias is the product of a hard working mom who emigrated from Nicaragua to La Puente, California. He’s extremely passionate on the issues of student rights and advocacy through his Non-Profit organization and his devotion to facilitating the initiatives of others. The struggle for representation, transparency, and equity in education is the driving force for his aspirations as he works towards serving his community in government in the future. While the barriers of entry are enormous for people in his community, the NextGen program provided him a once in a lifetime opportunity to engage and build the connections that will go on to shape his future. Thanks to the program, Brandon grew to understand the nature of his Latino identity and the breadth of the Latinx community that will always support him in his work.
