CELESTE ACEVEDO
Celeste Acevedo was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and serves as Legislative Assistant and Legislative Counsel to Congressman Joaquin Castro of Texas (D-San Antonio). Through this position, Celeste strongly advocates for Latino advancement and small business growth in the Congressman’s hometown, San Antonio. Celeste also serves as the 2023 Professional Development Director for the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association. In this elected role, she works to help Latinos on the Hill advance and develop within their careers.
Celeste attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where she participated in UTEP’s Law School Preparation Institute. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from UTEP, she attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and received her law degree. Celeste is currently licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia (DC) and is a member of DC’s Hispanic Bar Association. Celeste is the oldest daughter of three, and her parents still reside in El Paso. In her free time, Celeste likes to go to the gym and travel with friends.
