Crisol was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado, until the age of 6 by her single mother, who immigrated from Durango, Mexico at the age of 20. After her mother remarried, Crisol moved to Brighton, Colorado—a then small agricultural town—where she attended the Robert M. Shopneck Boys and Girls Club and began engaging in community service and leadership development. As the first person in her family to attend college, Crisol understands the importance of pursuing education and giving back to her community. On campus, she works with the Partnership Outreach Programs and actively mentors low-income, first-generation rising seniors from Boulder and Morgan counties in their transition to higher education.
A recent graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, Crisol earned two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Spanish for the Professions, along with a minor in Business. She hopes to return to Colorado to pursue a master’s degree in Public Policy with an emphasis on Public Diplomacy. Her ultimate career goal is to work with Latine youth populations across the country and in Latin America, preparing them for post-secondary education and engaging in community advocacy.
With the support of CHCI, Crisol aims to enhance her understanding of the legislative process and gain insights into U.S. international relations. She is committed to making meaningful changes for the Latine community throughout Colorado and inspire others to get involved.
