Eda Garcia

Eda Garcia is a communications professional dedicated to public service and ensuring that all communities have access to the information and resources they need. Growing up in Houston, Texas, as the daughter of undocumented immigrants from Mexico, she saw firsthand the challenges many families face in navigating government systems. As a first-generation college graduate, she values perseverance, adaptability, and the power of representation—principles that have guided her work in public service and communications.
She currently serves as Press Secretary and Digital Manager, where she helps communicate legislative priorities and connect with diverse communities. Her work focuses on media outreach, digital engagement, and ensuring constituents stay informed about resources and policies that impact their lives.
Previously, she was Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, supporting efforts to expand outreach and visibility, particularly among Latino communities. She has also worked in local government and campaigns in Harris County, Texas, helping to develop messaging and digital strategies on infrastructure, public safety, and other critical issues.
Her introduction to public service began with internships in the offices of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Chuck Schumer, where she gained experience in media relations and Hispanic press outreach. These opportunities deepened her understanding of how effective communication can help bridge gaps between policymakers and the people they serve.
A graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a degree in Government and Public Policy, she remains committed to increasing Latino representation in public service. While now based in Washington, D.C., she stays connected to her Houston roots and is passionate about mentoring others who want to make a difference. She is grateful for every opportunity to serve and is always looking for ways to uplift her community.
