Jacqueline Alvarado

Jacqueline Alvarado is a proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She currently serves as Legislative Aide and Correspondence Manager, focusing on Housing, Immigration, Postal, Arts/Creative Economy, Small Business and Native American Issues. Jacqueline began her Capitol Hill career as an intern for Congressman Jamie Raskin(D-MD) and Congresswoman Nanette Barragan (D-CA). She has also served as Staff Assistant/Legislative Correspondent and was promoted to Scheduler for Congresswoman Lori Trahan (D-MA).
Jacqueline earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics with minors in Social Justice Theory and Sociology from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. Through her education and personal experiences, Jacqueline developed a strong interest in affordable housing, immigration reform, and funding for arts education. She is committed to expanding pathways to citizenship for immigrants, ensuring every individual has an affordable and safe place to live, and advocating to protect performing arts education to continue inspiring the future generations of artists and musicians. Outside of work, Jacqueline enjoys singing, practicing karate, exercising, traveling and dog sitting.
