U.S. Representative Marilyn Strickland
A proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, first generation college graduate, and native Oregonian, Liz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Oregon in 2018.
Liz currently serves as a Legislative Assistant to Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland (D-WA), the first Black woman to represent the Pacific Northwest in Congress. In this role, Liz covers the Congresswoman’s transportation & infrastructure committee work and healthcare, nutrition, and agriculture policy portfolio. She also has previous experience covering science, technology, immigration, judiciary, and small business issues.
Liz began her career on Capitol Hill as an Otto & Verdell Rutherford Congressional Intern for Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and previously served as a Staff Assistant in the office of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
