Emiliano Juárez was born to Mexican immigrants from Puebla and Michoacán. He is currently the president of the mariachi band, and the environmental club in his high school, and spearheads projects with local youth councils. Last year he implemented a gun violence prevention series at his local library, using his civic power for impactful change. He is very passionate about fighting against climate change and hopes to work in the education sector. The NextGen program helped Emiliano network and foster new relationships in Latino spaces. It also helped him learn more about exercising one’s civic duties as a Latino and giving back to the community.
