Evelyn Chavez is a first-generation American and high school student striving to find opportunities for her and her peers to attain higher education. Throughout her high school years, she has also found a variety of passions. She is currently Editor-in-Chief of her Yearbook class, president of Earth Club & the Academic Decathlon, and participating in coding classes in and outside of her classroom. After the program, Evelyn left with the resources to help her community’s environmental issues and looks forward to putting her plan into action. Most importantly, thanks to the NextGen program, Evelyn found a network of support and peers whom she could relate to and rely on for encouragement.
