Gabriel Baquero was born in Quito, Ecuador, and moved to Dallas, Texas when he was 13. He is the Vice-president of his Student Council, he is an active member in his local Model Model United Nations, National Honor Society as well as his DECA chapter. Gabriel plans to attend college when he finishes high school and plans to major in business management. Through his participation in the CHCI NextGen Latino Leaders Program, Gabriel gain valuable skills, made connections with Latino leaders but most importantly, he gained knowledge of how to become a better leader in his community. He highly recommends this program to any motivated Latino high school students interested in developing leadership skills and preparing for impactful careers in government or politics.
