Idania Islas is the child of two parents born in Mexico City, Mexico. She is currently in clubs such as HOPE, HOSA, BETA, volunteers at a dog shelter, and is on the varsity swim club. She strives to make an impact on the education system seeing as she wants to be a teacher – she has always wanted to expand knowledge at risk youth. With the NextGen program, she was able to learn more about how she could make an impact in her community. She was taught that through knowledge and awareness, she is able to learn about how she can make an impact when it comes to education, as she continues to aid in those in her area.
