Janai Newball-Oladapo is of Afro-Colombian descent and was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. She is the current Model UN (MUN) president, secretary of her school’s band club, a member of mock trial, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, a baton twirler, and a shot put thrower on her school’s track & field team. She is passionate about diplomacy and building relationships between people of different backgrounds. She was honored to have the opportunity to be a participant in the NextGen program. NextGen has opened her eyes to the importance of building stronger relations and understanding between the black and brown communities. She plans to pursue her law degree and use the knowledge gained from NextGen to advocate and to help create policies that empower the black and brown communities.
