Jason Vasques

Jason Vasques was raised by Mexican immigrants and resides in the South Los Angeles, California area. He is the current secretary of the STEM Council, participates in several outreach and volunteer clubs, and is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union SoCal Youth Liberty Squad. He emphasizes the necessity of uplifting his community, especially through active participation and widespread awareness towards pressing issues which affect the South Los Angeles community. Thanks to the NextGen program, Jason better understood the interplay between public policy, housing, environment, funding, and the prosperity of a community through interactions with Congress members and meetings with key members in organizations like the National Education Association. Furthermore, the NextGen program inspired Jason to look deeper into long-term issues within his own community.
