U.S. Representative Jared Huffman
Juliana Fleming was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts and serves as the Legislative Correspondent for Congressman Jared Huffman (D-CA-02), where she covers foreign affairs. Previously, Juliana worked as a Staff Assistant for Senator Ed Markey (D-MA). Her passion and dedication to public service is evident after 5 years of work experience in the government, private and nonprofit sectors. In 2022, Juliana served as an Application Specialist in FEMA’s Individual Assistance cadre, helping hundreds of disaster survivors to complete their requests for relief in both English and Spanish. As Assistant Team Leader for AmeriCorps NCCC during the COVID-19 pandemic, Juliana co-led a team of 12 Corps Members in completing 18,500 volunteer service hours in four different states. Juliana is committed to ensuring all backgrounds, points of view and experiences are welcomed and present in Congress.
Juliana attended the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and received her B.A in International Relations. While in undergrad, she participated in the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute’s (CHLI) Global Leaders Program where she interned with Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and UPS Global Public Affairs. Juliana’s mother is Colombian and Cuban, and her father is Irish American. She is the eldest daughter of three and her mother, brothers and tíos still live in Boston. Juliana is an avid soccer player, and she loves trying new restaurants with friends in her free time.
