Leylani Parra is a Mexican daughter of two immigrants who migrated for a better life for their families and themselves. Currently Leylani maintains a 4.5 weighted G.P.A is senior class president and actively is involved in her school community. Leylani aspires to become a biomedical engineer while also dabbling in policy in order to create a feature where medicine can be afforded by everyone. The NextGen program has provided her with new gained confidence, leadership, and connections to continue her academic career and build upon her network in order to peruse her dream career.
