Lorena Guerrero is a proud first generation Mexican-American. Currently, she serves as a lead organizer at a local non-profit looking to implement a new social studies curriculum in the city of Detroit, member of a youth advisory board focused on creating change in her community, captain of her school’s varsity lacrosse team, and president of her school’s Latino Culture Club. The NextGen program has afforded her the opportunity to broaden her leadership skills, social network, and knowledge of potential careers and tracks in both public and private sectors. Lorena can’t wait to apply the skills she has gained from the NextGen program and pursue a career in Public Policy.
