Manuel Contreras leads Chairman Sanders’ K-12 policy agenda as the Senior Education Policy Advisor on the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. He has worked on the HELP Committee since 2016, where he worked my way up the committee under the leadership of Senator Patty Murray. Manuel graduated from Brown University and grew up in San Diego, CA. As a first-generation college student, Head Start kid, and the child of Mexican immigrants, he is committed to creating equitable educational opportunities across the country.
