MARLENNE CARRILLO

Marlenne Carrillo is a recent San Diego State University graduate where she double majored in Political Science and Chicana/o/x Studies and was a Fall 2022 CHCI Congressional Intern. Marlenne grew up in a small town in Northern California with her mother and three older brothers, who have motivated her throughout her entire life. As a First-Generation college graduate and daughter of immigrants, Marlenne found community activism to be an essential part of my life. Throughout college, she focused on building the Latine community as well as assisting other marginalized communities in need. Marlenne hopes to continue her community work in this position and in law school, as she prepares to apply for the 2024 cycle. Aside from her commitment to the community, Marlenne is very passionate about classical music, poetry, thrift shopping, fashion, and fashion photography.
