Miranda was born in Veracruz, Mexico and came to the United States before the age of one with her parents. Raised in Denver, Colorado, she attended a performing arts school that inspired her passion for advocacy through performance and theater for social change.
She recently graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Theatre and a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in Law and Human Rights. As a DACA recipient, she is passionate about immigrants’ rights issues and creating community with young undocumented individuals. On campus, she served as the Assistant Director of IDEAS at USC, where she helped advocate for an undocumented Trojan Resource Center. She also worked as a USC Tour Guide, and a First-Generation student leader, where she mentored prospective and first-year first-generation students. Ultimately, Miranda would like to pursue a JD and begin a career as an immigration attorney.
Miranda hopes to gain valuable insights into policy issues she is passionate about, particularly immigration and education, and a deeper understanding of the legislative process overall through her role as a CHCI Intern. She is excited to form meaningful connections with other young leaders and expand her network in DC.
