Monica Castro Alegre is a daughter of Mexican parents from DC. She is involved in the National Honor Society, League of United Latin American Citizens, AP Translators, and Photography Club. She wants to become a pediatrician. Her goal is to impact the healthcare system by providing more Latina representation. Even though she is from DC, participating in the NextGen Program has helped her gain a new perspective on DC that she has never seen before. She was able to meet new people from diverse backgrounds and make connections.
