Nicolas Abreu

Nicolas Abreu is the son of first-generation Cuban-Americans from Miami, Florida. As the current president of his school’s speech and debate club, Nicolas is extremely passionate about using his voice to create change. In the future, he plans to study law and help defend Latino voices in the judicial system. Through the NextGen program, he realized how different the latino experience can be depending on the diversity of one’s environment. Though we have come far in securing equal treatment amongst minorities, this fight must be continued in areas where Latinos are not fully welcomed.
