Ricardo Linares is the son of two Mexican immigrant parents from Austin, Texas. He wants to attend a 4 year university that will help him in his journey to be an educator. He wants to be able to work with the next generations and help educate and encourage them to pursue higher education. The NextGen Program has helped him gain a wider understanding of what it means to be a mentor or teacher. Seeing other mentors from this program has helped him learn more valuable and meaningful lessons.
