Sydney Ramsey is a first generation Puerto Rican in Ohio. She is a passionate Girl Scout, both a Gold Award recipient and official member of the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, serving as a representative for over 25,000 Girl Scouts. She is the founder of Project Scam Protectors, a bilingual program for vulnerable populations. It’s primary focus is on educating the elderly and minority communities about internet and phone scam recognition and prevention. This inspired her interest in law and government so that she can protect the rights and freedoms of her community. The NextGen program gave her the opportunity to connect with Latino students and professionals from across the nation, and she is grateful to have learned from their perspectives and experiences. She will use this experience to be a more active citizen, and to promote justice in her community.
