Tobias Montilla is the son of an immigrant from the Dominican Republic who lives in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He currently volunteers as a member of the UPS Hispanic/Latino Business Resource Group, REALITY DuPage, and Spanish Honors Society, plays in sports as a member of the Glenbard West Soccer, Midwest FC and Track & Field teams, and plays the violin as a member of the Youth Symphony of DuPage and the Glenbard West Concert Orchestra. Tobias is passionate about serving marginalized communities with his many skills such as music, bilinguality, and leadership. Using these assortment of skills and experiences, he aspires to pursue engineering, political science, or music in college. By attending the NextGen Program, Tobias was able to voice his opinions on problems to government officials, meanwhile learning about the stances of others on similar issues, allowing him to recognize the impact that he wanted to leave on the world; giving back to the community that is the foundation of his beliefs and practices.
