Xavier Lopez

I am a humble son of Hialeah, Florida. Hialeah is a predominantly Cuban-American enclave and major city in Miami-Dade county. I graduated Magna Cumm Laude from Florida State University, with a major in Political Science and International Affairs. During and shortly after college, I served as a legal assistant for a number of law firms throughout the South Florida area. Currently, I serve as a labor organizer for the United Teachers of Dade, the teachers’ union for the third largest school district in the United States. Besides this, 1 also serve as treasurer for the Progressive Peoples’ Caucus of Miami Dade, as a board member at large for the Miami Coalition to Advance Racial Equity, and as a dues paying member of the Miami Workers Center.
