Melissa Alvarado is a Director of Government Affairs at Delta Air Lines. She focuses on Delta’s security and facilitation priorities with Congress, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection, and Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Melissa joined Delta from the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security where she was a professional staff member responsible for aviation, maritime, and transportation security for Chairman Bennie Thompson.
Before joining the Committee on Homeland Security, she worked for the TSA’s Office of Legislative Affairs and held a detail assignment to DHS’s Office of the Secretary. Prior to her time in the executive branch, Melissa served as a staff member in the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and in the personal office of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson of Florida.
