THOMAS ALEXANDER RIVERA

Thomas Rivera (he/him) is the Special Assistant to the President and Board Liaison at Excelencia in Education. In this role, he directly supports the President across all activities with Excelencia partners such as leaders in higher education, government, philanthropy, and business. As Board Liaison, Thomas is the primary point of contact for the Board of Directors, working closely with the Board, Board Committees, the President, and the CEO to ensure that all governance matters are handled smoothly and effectively. Prior to Excelencia, Thomas worked as Legislative Assistant and Correspondence Manager for Representative Gilbert R. Cisneros, Jr. (Ret.).

Thomas is an alumnus of CHCI’s 2015 Summer Internship Program and 2012 NextGen Latino Leadership Program. He received his B.A. in Politics and Economics (Dual Major) from Pomona College. Thomas is a proud Latino, first-generation college graduate. He appreciates the support he received for his academic success and believes in paying it forward.
